Edge 423 Flybarless mains for
500 sized helicopter

I
purchased 2 sets of these blades from ReadyHeli for my 500 helicopter
that has an Align 3G flybarless system. Flybarless blades are design
differently than traditional Flybar'd blades. The center of gravity
lengthwise as well as chordwise is different. They were a tad heavier
than my other blades as well. Stiff resistance to twist as well as
bend. Overall, I"m pleased with the blades. Not sure it's worth the
tossing of your current CF blades for the upgrade, but if you have to
buy new blades anyway, the extra $$ is worth it (if your not crashing
alot).
What I noticed in flight after switching out some Align 423 carbon
blades was:
- Less
ballooning in forward flight as I increased speed (although the 3G
flybarless system can be electronically set to compensate for this, I
did not do that).
- The helicopter tracked better in all aspects of flight
- The govenor on the ESC seemed like it worked SLIGHTLY
better.
- Slightly better tracking in the wind.
