Multi
Rotor Aircraft
Welcome to the wonderful world of multi rotor Aircraft. I will focus my
attention on QUADS for now. This is where the majority of the action is
at this time. Multi Rotor Aircraft is a general term for helicopters
(if you can call it that) which have multiple rotor blades. Currently,
the majority of Multi Rotor Aircraft will use multiple RC Airplane
motors along with RC Airplane props. Generally these
propellars
are sized to run a little over 10,000RPM at full throttle but less at a
hover point.

really want to do LOTS of reading)

take a MONTH if you use the free shipping. If you want it sooner, pick
a different shipping option.
Quads I own:
Quad
Controllers I own
KK controller
- Controller and USB programmer (get both!)
Purchased from Xheli.com
- I used the lazyzero Java program to program
it with the 4.7X copter from Kapteinkuk
- Lazyzero requires you install Java
- link to USBASP
(USB Programer) driver
Note: Extract the zip file to a folder. When installing in XP or Win 7,
select the option to point to the drivers. Then point to the top of the
extracted folder and make sure windows is selected to include the
search in subfolders. If it does not load the first time in Win 7, go
to device manager and select to update driver and try again.
- Lazyzero thread on RCgroups
- Kapteinkuk KK firmare thread on RCGroups
- Few
setup notes: I manually calibrated all my ESCs hooking up directly to
the Rx on mine. I also had to reverse the yaw axis when setting up the
quad after flashing with the KK Firmware.
Rabbit Care Free (most
features including GPS)
Note:
There is some controversy about the origin of the code that the Rabbit
controller did their initial motor controller work on, see this thread:
